Crafts for the kids: How to press flowers

How to press flowers

Pressing flowers and other interesting finds from the garden is simple to do and well worth the effort.

You need:

an old exercise book

a stack of books for weight

a  selection of plants picked on a fine day. For our first attempt we gathered:

dandelion flowers, purplish clover flowers, grass with seed heads, hedge leaves, nasturtium flowers and  leaves from a neighbours tree.

Next steps:

Place your flowers and other garden finds carefully between the pages of the exercise book.

Close the exercise book and place beneath a stack  of books

Leave for a few days before checking on progress.
